Eternal Love

Sitting on the park bench one summer

Watching others go by

When a passerby

Stop and asked

Is this seat saved?

I was saving it for you, I said

We sat and talked

Until sundown

Walked hand in hand

Into a future life

A knot was tied

A family began

We agree to disagree

Grew together

Learning to live conjointly

Accepting the differences

The two AM feedings

Mumps and measles

The first day of

Kindergarten

Dancing classes

Sports, High School

College

The years flew by

The children eventually

Married with children

Of their own

As the parents aged gracefully

Each winkle of time

Went unnoticed

As if the youth and beauty

stayed stationary

Love and care grew through the years

Though some ups and downs

Lives were shared together

Through sickness and health, the bond grew stronger

Anniversaries of paper, aluminum, china, silver, pearls, coral,

ruby, sapphire, gold, emerald, diamonds, platinum

Passed too quickly

The fast lane slowed down

Sadness grew and grew

When the mind of one went astray

But faithfully stood side by side

supporting in sickness as in health

Caring friends stop to say hello

Leaving after a few words

Nothing they can do

Only try to be supported

Making sure the life had meaning

Reviving memories in photo albums

Taking loving patience

Continuing the walk of life

Sitting on the park bench that summer

Watching others go by

When a passerby

Stop and asked

Is this seat saved?

I was saving it for you, my love

For the rest of

Our lives

Love Love - the blank page. Page which accepts every stroke of the pen. Pen turns into a knife. Knife that slices bodies. Bodies split...
